The ongoing conflict in Gaza has led to a significant increase in the number of children who have lost one or both parents, while thousands of others are living with permanent disabilities caused by war-related injuries. According to UNICEF, more than 56,000 children have lost one or both parents, and the World Health Organization (WHO) reports that thousands of children require long-term rehabilitation and continuous healthcare services.
Orphaned children with disabilities face multiple challenges, including the loss of family support, limited access to healthcare, rehabilitation services, assistive devices, education, and psychosocial care. These challenges place them among the most vulnerable groups in Gaza and significantly affect their well-being and future opportunities.
To respond to this urgent humanitarian need, Jusoor Al-Amal (Bridges of Hope) Association has launched the Sponsorship Program for Orphaned Children with Disabilities. The program provides comprehensive support tailored to each child's needs, including basic living assistance, healthcare, physical rehabilitation, assistive devices, education support, and psychosocial services.
Each beneficiary is assessed individually to identify priority needs, and regular follow-up ensures that support remains effective and sustainable. The program aims to improve children's quality of life, facilitate access to education and rehabilitation, strengthen their physical and psychological well-being, and promote their inclusion within their families and communities.
Individuals, institutions, and charitable partners can support this program by sponsoring a child or contributing with any donation starting from just $1, helping provide essential services and long-term care for orphaned children with disabilities in Gaza.
